Dear Sacred Heart Cathedral School Parents, Faculty, Staff and Students,
It is our pleasure to announce that after a very thorough interview process, Mrs. Lisa Maki has been offered and accepted the position of Vice-Principal for the 2013-2014 school year. Lisa has been a respected and dedicated fourth grade teacher at Sacred Heart Cathedral School for the past fifteen years. She has been recognized for her creative, differentiated classroom environment. In addition to her instructional role during her tenure at SHCS, she has served in numerous leadership roles including Religion Curriculum Leader, Fourth Grade Team Leader and the Faculty Chair of the Principal’s Advisory Committee.
Lisa has been formally trained and certified by the State Department of Education in the Tennessee State Framework for Evaluation and Professional Growth.She is also an AdvancEd Accreditation External Review Chair and Team Member certified by the AdvancEd Accreditation Agency. Lisa has previously worked for the Diocese of Fort Worth in Texas at Holy Rosary Catholic School and the Dallas Independent School District in various elementary grades. While at Holy Rosary, she developed and assisted in the implementation of a school-wide behavior management plan.
Lisa holds her degree from Kent State University with a dual certification in Special Education in Hearing Impaired and Elementary Education.  She is a Professional Certified Catechist through the Diocese of Knoxville and she is seeking an advanced degree in Educational Administration and leadership.
